Cyrex Testing

Cyrex Testing

Research confirms that the root cause for many undesired immune reactions originates in the gastrointestinal tract. GI tract abnormality can compromise the integrity of the gut barrier and increases the entry of undigested antigens into the sub-mucosa and the circulation, thus challenging the immune system. Reaction to these antigens activates immune and inflammatory cascades, resulting in the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and an array of antibodies, which further contributes to increased intestinal barrier permeability (or leaky gut syndrome).

Cyrex offers tests measuring predictive antibodies to a variety of key antigens. These antigens are arranged into groups, called Arrays, which are specifically designed for clinical applications. We use Array 2, 3, 4, and 10 to test for intestinal permeability, food sensitivities, and food immune reactivity.

Array 2 :  INTESTINAL PERMEABILITY:  It measures intestinal permeability to large molecules which inflame the immune system and identifies the damaging route through the intestinal barrier. This test is recommended for patients who present multiple symptom complaints (including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), who suffer from abnormal immune cell count and function (including autoimmune diseases), or patients who complain of food allergy and intolerance.

Array 3: GLUTEN REACTIVITY:  It accurately identifies Gluten Reactivity and measures antibody production against nine wheat proteins and peptides and three structure enzymes. This test is recommended for patients who have non-responsive GI symptoms, present multiple-symptom complaints (including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia), or suffer from depression or neuro-autoimmunity.

Array 4: CROSS REACTIVE FOODS:  This identifies additional dietary proteins to which the Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitive (NCGS) or Celiac Disease (CD) patient is sensitized; detects cross-reactions in the patient non-responsive on a gluten-free diet; and categorizes the 1-in-2 NCGS or CD patient who is also sensitive to dairy products. This test is recommended for patients who have Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity or Celiac Disease, are experiencing limited improvements or are non-responsive on a gluten-free diet, or have gut dysbiosis, which appears to be resistant to standard therapy.

Array 5:  Multiple Autoimmune Panel:  This panel identifies whether you have developed autoimmunty or antibodies to 20 different areas of the body.  This testing helps up predict, identify  and manage your symptoms better

Array 10:  MULTIPLE FOOD REACTIVITY PANEL   It evaluates immune reactions to foods, raw and/or modified, food enzymes, lectins and food additives, including meat glue, artificial colorings and gums; early detection of dietary-related triggers of autoimmune reactivity; monitors the effectiveness of customized dietary protocol in the patient. This test is recommended for patients who seek a life-long health and wellness strategy, present with unexplained symptoms whether gastrointestinal, neurological, dermatological or behavioral in nature, or are having increased intestinal permeability, which is the gateway for environmentally-induced autoimmune disorders.

Array 11: CHEMICAL SENSITIVITY PANEL  Evaluation of chemical antibody reactions to multiple chemicals.  Continued exposure of a chemical that you are developing antibodies to will trigger an immune response.

Array 12:  MULTIPLE PATHOGEN PROFILE  This panel evaluates multiple viral, fungal, heavy metal and bacterial pathogens for an immune response.

A Comprehensive Approach

As a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and Board Certified in Integrative Medicine, Dr. Veselak has found that successful treatment is the result of finding the source of the problem, and not covering the symptoms with medications.

With all chronic pain patients there is an underlying component that must be addressed if the patient is ever going to respond to conservative care and live a life without medications.
